November 2020, We are pleased to announce that we have won the Construction News Project of Year award for our design, manufacture and installation of the superstructure at Westway Botley!

Construction Specialist Awards 2020 - Finalist

This year we're celebrating 20 years of construction, so the award feels extra special. The awards ceremony was held online on Tuesday evening which allowed all our team and staff from across the UK to join in with the celebrations.

The judges unanimously agreed that our project was worthy of the prestigious award for our use of BIM to plan, design, forecast and check our LSF panels prior to construction ensuring seamless installation on site. We were also commended for designing and engineering a unique Davit arm stub design which we have now included in our details ready for use again where required. We are so proud that our innovation and use of digital technology had been recognised.

November 2020, The second lockdown has not stifled our work. With numerous new contract wins and our site teams working as diligently as ever, we are proud to maintain progress and growth.

Here are some incredible site pictures of our live scheme in Coventry. We have designed, manufactured and installed the HRS structure and LSF wall above. We're building this student accommodation development for McLaren Construction Group.
Conventry, November

Well done to our talented designers Andy Maggs, Christopher Williams, Tom Hughes and Nino Bartle.

October 2020 , Superb photos taken by Eva Tomoga and Nino Bartle on their site visit to Lincoln to see our progress constructing multiple student accommodation blocks for Bowmer and Kirkland Ltd
The development look astonishing now that the facades near completion. Despite new Covid protocols, we are still exceeding programme and breaking internal records for concrete pours and on-site efficiency. Lincoln, October

Well done to our design and site teams led by Hartland Ellis and Julian Pennie.

September 2020, Here's a completion picture of our Premier Inn, Botley. The wider scheme is a mixed use development where we designed, manufactured and installed the #lightsteelframe superstructure for all four blocks.
We have a wealth of experience in building Premier Inns but this one was particularly interesting given the impressive saw-tooth window design and the bespoke davit arm stubs we designed and fabricated in house.
Well done to all of our Metek Plc team involved!
Botley, September

August 2020, Well-done of our site team Julian Pennie Jake Hart-fisher for their ongoing progress and successes at our student accommodation Light Steel Frame superstructure development in Lincoln for B&K.
Our design, manufacturing and construction accuracy speaks for itself with a recent slab survey showing datums within millimetres of the proposed design. The slab results are even more impressive considering we are eight storeys into the build.
This has been achieved through regular progress reviews, site checks and meticulous detailing and planning; a process we follow on all of our projects.

July 2020, Here's a nice end to a great week, progress pictures of our Waterfront Plaza development for CALA Group Limited. This scheme has been constructed using our Light Steel frame solution; maximising offsite works to ensure seamless construction on site.
Well done to Craig Mccarry for managing the build on site and Andy Maggs for the project design.
Waterfront, July

May 2020, As we approach week 8 of the #covid19 health and safety measures, our ability to discuss, design and fabricate is still unaffected.
We are still designing, manufacturing and installing as per normal business but with further health and safety processes. Programmes are still being met and we’re so proud of our Metek Family for adapting so quickly and maintaining high levels of productivity.

April 2020 Works are progressing well at our site in Lincoln. Some excellent pictures taken by our Senior Project Designer Hartland Ellis. The numerous blocks have been expertly designed by our team with a view to increase offsite works. Great to see the scheme progressing so rapidly.
